Frequently Asked Questions
1
What is the process of booking an appointment?
I offer a free 15 min consultation phone call for us to get to know one another and to answer any questions you might have. I also offer an intake appointment to begin services with me. These options are on the home page, you can reach them by clicking here.
2
What is the cost of services?
All services are private pay. The standard rate for individual services is $125 per session. Couples therapy is $140 per session.
3
Can I use my insurance?
Safe Meadow does not accept insurance because we want to provide the best care possible, which to us, means to not allow companies to dictate your care. If this is a concern for you, we would be happy to refer you to a counselor that is able to accept insurance. If you would like to see if your insurance company will reimburse you, let Rachael know and she can print out a Superbill for you.
4
How often will I have a session?
Therapy is most effective the more consistent you can be with services. It is recommended that you schedule a session once a week, or every other week depending on your level of distress, commitment, and financial flexibility. Once you feel like you have made progress, it is possible to meet monthly to maintain stabilization.
5
How long will it take before I start feeling better?
As most answers related to counseling, "it depends" applies here as well. Often counseling and therapy is like working out. It feels worse before it starts to feel better. Patience is an important part of the process. However, often clients start to feel a change after the second or third session because they can feel a burden lifted once they are able to trust their therapist.
6
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
If you find a conflict in your schedule, no problem, life happens. Safe Meadow Counseling's cancelation policy is that you cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Late cancelations and no-shows will be charged the cost of the appointment. Telehealth is an option for last minute illnesses.
