Individual Adult Counseling
Services assist with: anxiety, relationship issues, depression, co-dependency recovery, and grief. Online Telehealth therapy offered only to individuals in TN.
Family Counseling
Learn to approach family relationships as a team to restore connection, security, and communication. A good fit for parents willing to participate in therapy alongside their children. Family Therapy only offered in person.
Group Therapy
Learn how to set boundaries, and process the emotional and psychological aspects that keep you from setting boundaries. Starting in August, 10 week closed group, 8 out of 10 session participation required.
My Approach
As a pre-licensed clinician my approach is still developing. My focus is on what is best for each client, which has resulted in an eclectic approach. The main theory of counseling that I use is based on attachment, so I draw from Psychodynamic, and Emotion Focused Therapy. This means that I view each individual as part of their family system, and that the behaviors make sense within a context. It also means that I use specific skills and techniques that increase empathy and compassion for other individuals as I educate individuals on themselves and their partners attachment styles and the needs that accompany them. But again, it depends on the client and the need. I may use Cognitive Behavior Therapy to challenge negative thoughts. Or mindfulness from a Dialectical Behavior Therapy approach. My goal is to give the best care possible to each individual and couple in order to encourage the growth that they are pursuing for themselves.

My approach is not waving a magic wand, or giving you 5 steps to healing. If you are wanting to work with me, I will collaborate with you to meet the goals that you set. I cannot "fix" you, or remove your problems, but I will seek to empower you and work with you to find solutions.

I mentioned in the About section that I am direct. As a clinician, this means that I am not afraid to challenge you. Therapy can sometimes feeling like learning a new exercise or skill, it feels awful at first, but then with consistency and practice you will notice yourself getting stronger. My goal is to help you get to the root of the symptom, instead of put a bandaid on it. Because if we look the problem in the face it is much easier to find solutions. I will be standing next to you, holding the mirror, and helping you see, so that we can reach those goals together.
